Santiago demuestra la contradicción (el sin sentido) de la fe sin obras con un pequeño "drama":
15 Y si un hermano o una hermana están desnudos,
y tienen necesidad del mantenimiento de cada día,
16 y alguno de vosotros les dice: Id en paz, calentaos y saciaos,
pero no les dais las cosas que son necesarias para el cuerpo,
¿de qué aprovecha?
¿Cuál es la única respuesta posible a esta pregunta? De nada sirven los buenos deseos, los deseos piadosos, sino se responde a la necesidad apremiante del hermano.

James shows the contradiction (the fact that it doesn't make sense) of faith without works with a short drama in verses 15-16:
15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?
What is the only possible answer to this question? Good and pious wishes are no good, unless they respond to our brother's pressing need.
